From planning to progress in Pulaski County
The Community Foundation of Pulaski County builds resources, engages people, and inspires generosity across Pulaski County, Indiana. AltruNext partnered with the Foundation to turn shared community priorities into a strategic plan—and help put it into action.
The challenge
CFPC needed a unified plan to align board, staff, and community stakeholders around shared goals. Priority initiatives, including the Recovery Café and Quality Childcare Coalition, also needed the structure and resources to thrive.
Limited staffing, competing priorities, and the realities of rural philanthropy called for a practical roadmap that could guide decisions, pacing, and resource allocation as circumstances changed.
Our approach
01 · Listen
In 2023, review prior plans, board assessments, and community data, then gather input through stakeholder surveys and interviews.
02 · Align
Facilitate a board retreat to set shared goals and objectives. Refine the multi-year strategic plan with board and staff feedback.
03 · Resource
In 2024–2025, research aligned funders and develop grant proposals for the Recovery Café and Quality Childcare Coalition.
04 · Adapt
Provide ongoing strategic counsel to pace initiatives, adjust timelines, and align funding decisions with evolving staff capacity.
A living plan. Sustained community progress.
CFPC gained a clear strategic roadmap, increased organizational capacity, and stronger collaboration across community partners. The plan continues to guide staffing, funding priorities, and implementation timelines.
New resources are helping the Recovery Café and Quality Childcare Coalition advance toward sustainability. CFPC is building regional partnerships and strengthening the systems these initiatives need for long-term success.

“Not your boring strategic planning. You'll walk away with something you will not put on your shelf. You'll have your plan of action and know exactly what you need to do. If you're worried about the expense or time and effort it takes to do strategic planning, it’s worth it—just do it. (And it’ll be fun!)”
