Bridging Grant Writing and Fund Development

Grant professionals bring valuable skills to fundraising beyond proposal development. In this session, Kristin will explore the connections between grant writing and broader fund development responsibilities, offering practical examples of how professionals can contribute across functions during slower grant cycles or as they prepare for expanded leadership roles.
Participants will identify transferable skills, clarify the differences between grant writing and broader development roles, and explore strategies for extending their contributions beyond proposals. The session is designed for professionals with experience managing core grant writing responsibilities; no experience in other fundraising functions is required.
A Strengths-Based Approach for Change Agents

Organizational change is a familiar part of nonprofit work. Kristin will introduce Appreciative Inquiry, a strengths-based approach that helps professionals build on what is working well as they navigate evolving teams and shifting priorities.
Participants will explore the approach’s five stages and guiding principles, learn how strengths-based questions can support conversations during change and planning, and identify ways to act as change agents within their current roles. No prior experience with change management methodologies is required.
